Slickplan Help Collaborating & sharing

Preview mode overview

Preview mode in Slickplan gives teams and clients a complete, read-only view of your project.

It’s more than just a way to check content. Preview mode shows the full scope of your planning work:

  • Sitemaps for hierarchy and information architecture
  • Diagrams for user flows and processes
  • Content blocks for text and media
  • Design mock-ups for page layouts and visuals

With one shared link, stakeholders can see how everything fits together without needing an account or paid seat. This makes preview mode an easy way to collaborate and review progress at any stage of a project.

Accessing preview mode

To open preview mode, use the Sharing projects instructions: Sharing a project.

You can share either:

  • The entire project link (opens in sitemap view by default)
  • A single page link from within the Content Planner

Why use preview mode

Preview mode is designed for more than just reviewing content drafts. It provides a holistic view of your website project.

  • Team collaboration – Let colleagues explore sitemaps, diagrams, and designs without using a seat.
  • Client and stakeholder reviews – Share progress with decision-makers in a familiar, browser-based format.
  • Information architecture – Show the full site hierarchy and page relationships.
  • User flows and processes – Use diagram view to demonstrate navigation paths or workflows.
  • Content checks – Preview all page copy, images, and structured blocks in one place.
  • Design alignment – Display attached mock-ups alongside the content they support.

What users can do in preview mode

Depending on the module selected in the top navigation, viewers can:

  • Sitemap view – Browse the full website hierarchy and click into pages.
  • Diagram view – Review user flows and process diagrams.
  • Content view – Read structured page content in context.
  • Design view – See uploaded mock-ups tied to each page.

When comments are enabled, reviewers can also leave feedback directly on pages or blocks.
