Adding containers to diagrams

Containers in Slickplan’s Diagram Maker help organize project shapes into professional presentations like swim lane diagrams.

To incorporate a container into your diagram:

1. Click the shape library on the left side of the screen to open it.

   

2. At the bottom, find the Containers category. Select either the vertical or horizontal swim lane container.

   

3. The swim lane container will appear in your work area, ready to customize.

   

4. Modify your swim lanes:
   • Resize : Drag the corner squares to adjust the size.

     

   • Edit labels: Double-click the label text to type your custom label.

     

   • Edit rows & columns: Click the container edges, then use the dropdown menu at the bottom to select the number of rows or columns.

     

   • Colors: Click the color swatches on the bottom bar to change the border and label colors.

     

   • Keep it organized: Click Magnetize to lock shapes inside the container.
