Content calendar overview

Using the Content Calendar

The Content Calendar provides a visual way to track and manage due dates for your pages. Instead of viewing dates in a list, you can now see all scheduled content in a familiar calendar layout and update dates with simple drag-and-drop actions.

Accessing the Calendar

To open the Content Calendar:

  1. Switch to the Content Planner.

  2. In the content dashboard, locate and switch to Calendar above the page list.

Calendar Overview

The Content Calendar displays all pages with assigned due dates in a standard calendar format.

At the top of the calendar, you’ll find:

  • Search bar
  • Quickly find specific pages by name

  • Filters
    • Assigned to: Filter pages by user
    • Status: Filter by workflow status (e.g., Draft, Complete)
    • Reset: Clear all applied filters
  • Sync Calendar button
  • Copies an iCal link to your clipboard, allowing you to sync your Slickplan due dates with external calendar applications (such as Google Calendar or Apple Calendar)

    Once clicked, you’ll see a confirmation message: “iCal link copied”

  • Left / right arrows: Navigate between months
  • Today button: Jump back to the current date
  • Month / Week toggle: Switch between calendar views
  • Calendar grid

  • Displays days from Monday to Sunday
  • Only pages with assigned due dates appear
  • Pages are shown as horizontal colored bars
    • Colors correspond to their workflow statuses
      • Example: Green = Complete, Orange = Draft, Grey = Unassigned

    At the bottom of the calendar, you’ll see all workflow statuses used in the project, along with their associated colors.

    Managing Due Dates

    Drag and drop

    You can quickly update a page’s due date directly from the calendar:

    1. Hover over a page entry
    2. A drag handle (six-dot icon) will appear
    3. Click and drag the page to a new date

    The due date will update automatically once dropped.

    Quick edit options

    Clicking on a page opens a quick action panel where you can:

  • Change the status
  • Update the due date
  • Mark the page as Done
  • Click Edit page to open the full page editor

    When to Use the Calendar

    The Content Calendar is especially useful when you want to:

  • Get a high-level view of upcoming content deadlines
  • Adjust timelines visually instead of manually editing dates
  • Track progress across multiple pages and statuses
  • Coordinate work across team members
  • Notes

  • Only pages with assigned due dates will appear in the calendar
  • Status colors depend on your project’s workflow configuration
  • Calendar sync uses the iCal format, which can be integrated with most external calendar tools
