What does it look like when I export my sitemap as PDF, EPS, PNG, HTML, XML, CSV, DOCX or Complete Website?

With Slickplan it’s easy to export your site map according to your needs. Here are a couple of samples of what each of your exports might look like.

Here’s our example sitemap that we will be exporting.

PDF’s & PNG’s

When exporting, the default settings are set as a portrait 8.5”x11” PDF. You can change paper sizes or switch from portrait to landscape. You can add notes, interactive annotations, do export without color, include page type etc. Date & page number options are by default set to be included in the export version. See How do I export my sitemaps? for more information.

Here are few examples of our sample sitemap exported to PDF.

When it comes to a PNG file, your outcome will look exactly the same, except sitemaps that take up more space than one page will be saved as multiple image files, instead of one PDF.

Vector (EPS)

Exporting in a vector format (EPS) looks the same as the PDF but is editable in programs that support vector files (such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop).

If you have a particularly wide sitemap, it would be better to use the landscape option, but if it’s particularly long, keep the file in a portrait format.

HTML

Saving a sitemap as an HTML file appears as it would in any web browser. With this, you have the option to also save the CSS file of your sitemap and to add notes. The exported file will be an archive (such as .ZIP) containing sitemap logo image, html file, css file and notes in .txt file format.

XML

An XML, or extensible markup language, file will be saved in an archived file also. This allows you to do data transmissions between different applications. You can use your XML file if you want to transfer a sitemap to another Slickplan account, seen here.

CSV

CSV export allows you to export tabular data from the Slickplan sitemap into a CSV file. These files can then be opened and viewed offline using a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft Excel. They can also be imported into any spreadsheet or database for the later web development. The exported file will be an archive containing the CSV file.

Content Outline (DOCX)

When you export your sitemap to content outline, the exported file is also an archive containing .docx file which can commonly be opened using Microsoft Word 2010 and the later versions.

This Word file contains your sitemap development per page document. Each sitemap cell is exported into one document page with Copy Content and Images sections. The exported document also generates a table of contents respecting your sitemap pages hierarchy with navigation hyperlinks to every page within the document.

Complete Website

Exporting your sitemap as a Complete Website allows you to publish real websites directly from Slickplan. It converts your sitemap and content into a ready to deploy bundle of files that includes HTML, CSS and all uploaded files.
